Computer Assessor
This site provides a dashboard for any computer assessments you have uploaded
The assessment is available on GitHub at https://www.github.com/computerassessment
The process goes a little bit like this...
- Download the zip file from GitHub
- Be sure to click the 'check for updates' button
- Run the assessment
- The assessment runs a variety of PowerShell commands which have been specifically allowed by the assessment
- The PowerShell commands pull information from your computer looking for things that may be suspicious or in the 'wrong place'
- The 'Rules' embedded in the assessment determin what should be reported
- Once the assessment has completed - your default '.hta' browser (similar to a .html browser) with your results
- If anything looks suspicious it will be clearly marked
- If the program recommends ANY changes - you should click on the 'Second Opinion' button which will...
- Build a file with all the evidence collected from the Computer
- Include the Rules
- Include the assessment
- You can upload this file to your favorite AI to go through the evidence and check for things like:+1:
- Is anything exposed that should be kept private
- Does the evidence support the recommendations
Once you have a second opinion - several options are opened up, including:
- Uninstalling suspicious programs
- Backing up and removing registry entries for things like 'Run Once' or startup items
